Safran
Safran is the world’s oldest aircraft engine manufacturer. The Paris-based company traces its origins to defense and consumer electronics maker Société d’Applications Générales de l’Électricité et de la Mécanique, which was founded in 1925. A decade ago that company merged with aerospace engine and equipment manufacturer Société Nationale d’Etudes et de Construction de Moteurs d’Aviation, commonly known as SNECMA. Today, the combined entity focuses on high-technology aerospace, defense and security. Safran has offices in Canada, Chile, China, Germany, India, Mexico, Russia, U.K. and the U.S.
