Continental

Continental was founded in 1871 as a producer of soft rubber products, including hoses and balloon fabric, and tires for carriages and bikes. The German company was the world’s first to develop grooved tires for automobiles. Today it operates an automotive group and a rubber group and supplies brake systems, powertrain components, vehicle electronics and tires, among other things. Continental employs more than 178,000 people across 49 countries.
