David Einhorn’s Greenlight Capital lost a little less than 1 percent in June, dropping 0.8 percent. That trimmed its gains for the year to 7.9 percent.
Greenlight’s June loss was roughly half the 1.5 percent decline for the S&P 500.
Still the widely-followed benchmark is up 13 percent for the year, the best first-half performance since 1998.
