With only three rankings to go, UBS is in the lead to be named this year’s Top Global Research Firm.

Halfway into the year, the firm has accumulated 108 research team positions across five countries and regions — the most of any firm so far. Citi, in second place, has 99 team positions, while Bank of America Merrill Lynch boasts 89. Last year’s champion, JPMorgan Chase & Co., is currently in fourth place with 79 team positions.

The current tallies are based on each company’s combined results in the All-Europe Research Team; All-Japan Research Team; Latin America Research Team; Emerging Europe, Middle East, and Africa Research Team; and All-Asia Research Team rankings.

Still to come are the Global Fixed Income Research Team, All-America Research Team, and All-China Research Team. The 2019 Top Global Research Firm — based on the results of all eight rankings — will be announced at the end of this year.
