For the second year in a row, JPMorgan Chase & Co. has been crowned the Top Global Research Firm.

The New York-based bank amassed 215 team positions across the ten surveys conducted by Institutional Investor in 2018, extending its lead over second-place Bank of America Merrill Lynch, which earned 206 team positions this year.

Joining them in the top-three this year is Citigroup, which edged ahead of last year‘s bronze medalist, UBS, with 165 team positions.

Despite slipping to fourth overall, UBS remained the top provider in the equities division. The Swiss bank’s 157 equity research team positions ranked it well ahead of second-place BofA Merrill Lynch, which earned 137 equity research team positions.

Institutional Investor’s annual ranking of the Global Research Leaders is based on the total number of positions research firms earned across the following rankings: the All-America Research Team; the All-America Fixed-Income Research Team; the All-Asia Research Team; the All-Brazil Research Team; the All-China Research Team; the All-Europe Research Team; the All-Europe Fixed-Income Research Team; the All-Japan Research Team; the Emerging Europe, Middle East & Africa Research Team; and the Latin America Research Team.
