Morgan Stanley, J.P. Morgan Lead in American Equity Sales

Morgan Stanley and J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. claimed the top spots in Institutional Investor’s 2017 All-America Sales Team. 

Morgan Stanley ranked as having the best specialist salespeople, overtaking 2016 champion Deutsche Bank Securities. Meanwhile, J.P. Morgan took the crown in the new generalist sales division.

Each year, Institutional Investor ranks the top salespeople on Wall Street. For the 2017 ranking, participants in the All-America Research Team survey were invited to rank both generalist and specialist salespeople.

Generalist and specialist salespeople were ranked based on the following attributes: best at providing special services, best understanding of client needs and customized service, knowledge and effective communication of research product, most proactive in facilitating and integrating access to analysts, quality of idea generation, quality of relationship, and quality of service intensity and responsiveness. Votes for individual salespeople were translated into votes for their firms.
