Buy-side traders and asset managers chose Credit Suisse as the top trading service provider in Institutional Investor’s 2017 All-Asia Trading Team.

The bank earned recognition in 17 of 20 categories voted on in this year’s survey, with strong electronic trading efforts across the region solidifying its place at the top of the list.

Morgan Stanley finished second with positions across 15 sectors, including two first place finishes for its China and Hong Kong group. Close behind was UBS with 13 spots in the rankings, with survey respondents highlighting the firm’s work in Australia and New Zealand. Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Citi rounded out the top five.

This year’s survey included responses from nearly 400 investment professionals with investments in Asian equities (including Japan). Voters were asked to rank trading service providers across their electronic trading, high touch, and portfolio trading platforms based on attributes such as risk appetite, trading capabilities, and access to liquidity.
