Chilliwack, British Columbia–based Terry Fox Foundation is gifting $12.7 million for three cancer research programs. The endowment, to be invested through the 2011 New Frontiers Program Project Grants, will help scientists investigate fundamental and complex areas of cancer research.

Approximately 50 percent of the endowment will be invested over a five year-period to support research into advanced prostate cancer at the Vancouver Prostate Centre led by Martin Gleave. The research team led by Sean Egan at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Ontario, will receive $2.8 million over three years and Michel Trembla-led team at the Rosalind and Morris Goodman Cancer Research Centre in Montreal, Quebec, $3.8 million.
