HSBC Taps Bank Of England Economist

Bank of England economist Simon Wells has resigned from the central bank.

Bank of England economist Simon Wells has resigned from the central bank, Bloomberg reports. Wells, who headed the team analyzing British economic data, was part of the central bank’s monetary analysis unit led by chief economist Spencer Dale.

Wells is joining Europe’s biggest lender by market value HSBC Holdings. He will work in the bank’s research department as U.K. economist. HSBC has recruited Bank of England economists in the past as well for its U.K. operations
