Symantec Picks Putnam For DC Plans

Computer security software maker Symantec Corp. has appointed Putnam Investments for record keeping of its two defined contribution plans.

Computer security software maker Symantec Corp. has appointed Putnam Investments for record keeping of its two defined contribution (DC) plans, Pensions & Investments reports. Putnam investment is a privately owned investment management firm founded by George Putnam.

As of December 31, the 401(k) plan of the California-based company had $775.2 million in assets and a smaller Symantec Acquisition Plan with assets worth $36.5 million. The Symantec Acquisition Plan comprises retirement assets of participants who served companies that Symantec had acquired and whose 401(k) plans were terminated after the acquisitions.
