Swiss Exchange Adds Asia Chief Economist

The Swiss International Commodities and Futures Exchange, an integrated derivative exchange entity, has appointed Charlie Chan as an Asian chief economist.

The Swiss International Commodities and Futures Exchange, an integrated derivative exchange entity, has appointed Charlie Chan as an Asian chief economist, AddPR.com reports. He will work from the exchange’s Hong Kong office. Chan will be in charge of evaluating, analyzing and forecasting with market current insights on macro-economic developments and major procedural actions boosting the development of the financial markets in the Asia-Pacific region.

Previously, he was with an international bank in Hong Kong as senior economist. The appointment is part of the exchange’s continuing evolution from traditional commodity trading to electronic trading as well as to boost its global macro policy research service in the Asian region, which is seeing continuous growth and development.
