Bahrain is issuing bonds worth nearly $9.3 billion, Reuters reports, citing BNA. The finance minister is authorized to sell public treasury bonds, called development bonds and Sharia-compliant instrument, in accord with Bahrain’s central bank. Issuance can commence after the official publication of the decree issued by Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa al Khalifa. In March, Bahrain postponed a planned $1 billion sovereign bond sale after its debt insurance costs rose to the highest levels in 18 months.
