JFX To Unveil Sharia Commodity Contracts

The Jakarta Futures Exchange will roll out Sharia-compliant commodity contracts.

The Jakarta Futures Exchange (JFX) will roll out Sharia-compliant commodity contracts, Reuters reports. The contracts are expected to be launched in mid-September. The JFX seeks to unveil contracts for several agricultural products, including coffee and cocoa and energy products, such as coal and diesel oil. The new scheme has been approved by Indonesia’s future trading regulatory body and the National Sharia Council at the Indonesian Ulema Association.
