Commodities Attract Italian Investors

Italian investors are getting drawn to commodity baskets.

Italian investors are getting drawn to commodity baskets, Risk.net reports. They are seeking to hedge and diversify from bond exposure following continuing inflation and sovereign debt worries.

As per Roberto Pecora, head of sales for Italy at Société Générale in Milan, accessing commodities through FX by gaining exposure to a basket of currencies linked to countries whose growth is driven by commodities is another reason attracting investor interest. Barclays Capital recently rolled out a public note listed on the Italian stock exchange, aimed at retail investors, linked to gold, oil and sugar.
