CalPERS Withdraws HF Investments

The California Public Employees’ Retirement System has taken out around $100 million from its hedge fund investments this year.

The California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) has taken out around $100 million from its hedge fund investments this year, HFMWeek reports. The system made the redemptions from funds in its risk managed absolute return strategies program.

Separately, the retirement system received $59.1 million through a number of ordinary course distributions from funds managed by Canyon Capital Advisors. In March, CalPERS also withdrew about $35 million from Wayzata Investment PartnersRecovery Fund.
