Boston-based Berkshire Partners’ eighth fund has raised $4 billion, Private Equity Hub reports. The Berkshire Fund VIII will see its final closing in the next 60 days. The firm’s last fund, Berkshire Fund VII, raised $3.1 billion, while its sixth fund collected $1.7 billion.
Berkshire invests between $50-500 million equity per deal. The firm targets sectors, including consumer products, retailing and related services, business services and transportation.
