Facebook will acquire a free mobile application platform that runs on every type of internet-enabled mobile phones, Snaptu, Financial Times reports. The social networking site will pay as much as $70 million for the London-based company. The deal, which is being confirmed by the U.K./Israeli company, is expected to close within a few weeks. Facebook had bought Beluga, a group messaging service, Rel8tion, a mobile advertising group, and the recruiting network, Pursuit, earlier this year.
