Slovenia’s NLB To Sell Units

Slovenian bank, Nova Ljubljanska Banka is seeking to sell its units in Austria, Bulgaria and Germany.

Slovenian bank, Nova Ljubljanska Banka (NLB), is seeking to sell its units in Austria, Bulgaria and Germany, Reuters reports. The sale talks for Bulgaria’s NLB Bank Sofia are in the last phase, while the sale talks of LHB Frankfurt and Vienna’s Adria Bank are under way. The move is part of NLB’s strategy to improve capital strength ahead of the European Union banking stress tests. NLB, which barely passed the EU stress test in July 2010, has recently issued a $350 million share sale to raise tier one capital to 7.6% from about 6%.
