Ashmore Group has obtained a discretionary investment management license to market its investment management services to Japanese pension funds.

Ashmore Group has obtained a discretionary investment management license to market its investment management services to Japanese pension funds, Fundamentals reports. The emerging market specialist has also opened an office in Tokyo. The new office is a part of the investment manager’s wider expansion in the region, which begun in June 2010 with the opening of Ashmore Japan. Ashmore has a number of offices in other regions, including Beijing, Bogota, New York and Singapore, in addition to its London headquarters.
