Ireland face a review of its bank bailout plan following release of the results of the latest round of stress tests, according to Herman Van Rompuy, president of the European Council. The council wants to determine whether the banks would need more than the €35 billion ($9.5 billion) in rescue funds already set aside by the European Union and International Monetary Fund. There has been growing concern that the Irish banking industry still needs support from the fund, though the European Central Bank has signaled that it wants EU and IMF to gradually draw back on helping the sector.
