Research In Motion has acquired Canadian mobile development company, tinyHippos.

Research In Motion (RIM) has acquired Canadian mobile development company, tinyHippos, Reuters reports. The company develops a multi-platform mobile environment emulator, Ripple, a cross-platform mobile application development and testing tool. RIM plans to use the technology to offer a mobile environment simulator to the developers building apps for the BlackBerry platform, adds TechCrunch. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
