Viacom has launched a cash tender offer to repurchase a total of $500 million of its senior unsecured notes.

Viacom has launched a cash tender offer to repurchase a total of $500 million of its senior unsecured notes. The new offer, for 6.25% senior notes due in 2016, expires on March 14 unless extended or terminated.

Viacom, which operates Paramount films and cable television channels, has retained BofA Merrill Lynch, Mitsubishi UFJ Securities, Morgan Stanley and Wells Fargo Securities to serve as dealer managers on the deal. Global Bondholder Services will serve as the information agent and depositary.
