Russian gold miner, Petropavlovsk, has appointed former BlackRock manager, Graham Birch, as a senior independent non-executive director, Fund Strategy reports. At BlackRock, Birch was the head of natural resources team, where he managed $40 billion in assets. Birch retired from BlackRock in 2009 and joined the board of Petropavlovsk in February 2010, adds Financial Times. He will replace Arsenal chairman, Peter Hill-Wood, at the position.
