Nomura has dropped its plans to sell its global agency brokerage subsidiary, Instinet.

Nomura has dropped its plans to sell its global agency brokerage subsidiary, Instinet, Financial News reports. The Japanese lender is now planning to merge the company with its investment bank’s growing equities business. The Tokyo-based bank previously held talks with a trading company to sell its U.S.-based agency brokerage unit. Nomura acquired Instinet from Silver Lake Partners for $1.2 billion in 2006.
