Clients say the analyst has a “firm understanding of the industry” and provides “great access to management.” The Wells Fargo Securities researcher upgraded MDC Partners from neutral to outperform last October, at $8.23, citing the Ontario-based direct-marketing company’s relatively low valuation and strong growth prospects. The stock zoomed 42.8 percent, to $11.75, through early June — and beat the sector by 44.2 percentage points — when Janedis discontinued coverage in anticipation of his departure from Wells Fargo for UBS.
