Diane Alfano has been a Member of the Board of Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC since 2000 and was appointed Chairman of Institutional Investor on October 1st, 2010. Ms. Alfano serves as CEO of Institutional Investors Conference Division, where she began her career with the company in1984. In this capacity, she runs the divisions membership and sponsored conference business which produces more that 90 roundtables, forums and conferences a year globally for financial executives, asset managers, hedge fund managers and institutional investors. She also supervises new product development for the division and oversees 80 employees in New York, London, Hong Kong and Singapore in every aspect of the business, including sales, programming, marketing and logistics. Prior to joining Institutional Investor, Ms. Alfano was a Sales Account Executive with the Burroughs Corporation from 1979 to 1983. An alumna of the Loomis-Chaffee school, she graduated in 1978 from Tufts University in Boston with a B.A. in French and Political Science. From 1976-77, Ms. Alfano studied at La Sorbonne and the Institut dEtudes des Sciences Politiques in Paris. David E. Antin joined Institutional Investor in February, 2002. He currently serves as CEO of Institutional Investors Publishing Division which includes its flagship publication Institutional Investor, IIs Alpha, II Intelligence, II Journals and IIs Sovereign Wealth Center. David is also responsible for Hedge Fund Intelligence whose products include, EuroHedge, AsiaHedge, InvestHedge, Absolute UCITS and Absolute Return. Prior to joining Institutional Investor David worked in the Audit and Business Assurance division of Arthur Andersen in New York where he qualified as a Certified Public Accountant. He left Andersen in early 2000 to become the V.P. of Finance and Operations at Argent Trading, a private equity-backed international corporate trading firm with 22 offices in 18 different countries.
David received his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting, Magna Cum Laude from Long Island University, where he was a Merit Fellow and the recipient of a full academic scholarship.
Fred R. Bleakley , as Managing Director and Editorial Director of Institutional Investor Memberships and Conferences oversees programming for Institutional Investor Membership groups and is in charge of programming for the U.S. Institute and the European Institute. He is a former Managing Editor of Institutional Investor magazine. Previously he was a Senior Special Writer and Finance Editor for the Wall Street Journal and was Deputy Business Editor of the New York Times.
Joe Casalino joined Institutional Investor as Human Resources Director in 1995. He remained on in that capacity after the companys acquisition by Euromoney PLC in 1998. In addition to providing HR support for all New York operations including Institutional Investor Inc., Metal Bulletin, ISI and IMN, he also provides HR consulting and advisory services to other Euromoney Institutional Investor companies such as MIS Training, Latin Finance, and Gulf Publishing.
Prior to joining II, he held various HR positions with financial services companies including 18 years in both domestic and international assignments with Chase Bank.
Christine Cavolina has been Publisher of Institutional Investor magazine since 2003. Prior to joining Institutional Investor as Publisher in New York, Ms. Cavolina was Deputy Publisher of Euromoney magazine in London. Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC is one of Europes leading financial media companies. Euromoney magazine is the flagship title of the Group.
Robert Dunn serves as Commercial Director for II Intelligence Asset Management, Institutional Investors data and analysis product group, and Hedge Fund Intelligence, the leading data and news business covering hedge fund performance and management. Prior to joining Institutional Investor in 2012, Robert ran Dow Jones Private Markets, where he oversaw a portfolio of news and data products focused on private equity, venture capital and bankruptcy. He began his career as a financial journalist, as an editor and reporter covering private equity and venture capital, and as editor of several startup magazines, one of which was nominated for National Magazine of the Year Award. Robert has contributed to The Wall Street Journal, Details, NPRs On the Media and Newsday, and appeared as a financial commentator on CNN and CNNFN. He received his Masters of Science in Magazine Journalism from Syracuse University, and his undergraduate degree in English and Philosophy from Bowdoin College.
Mark Fortune is editor of Institutional Investors Intelligence Division. He is responsible for driving the divisions editorial coverage of institutional fund management, as well as its industry research and plan sponsor engagement efforts. He directs Money Management Intelligence, Foundation & Endowment Intelligence, iiSEARCHES and Global Money Management Investor Report. He has covered the U.S. financial services industry as a reporter, editor and publisher for over 20 years. He began his career as a reporter with IIs News Division. Lewis Knox is Executive Director of TraderForum and Financial Technology Forum, Institutional Investor's membership groups for buyside equity traders and investment management chief information officers, respectively. Lew is responsible for product content and event programming. Before joining II Memberships, he was assistant managing editor, technology and development at Institutional Investor magazine, where he was responsible for technology coverage and for developing new research features. Before taking over the technology beat, Lew was the research editor at the magazine, where he was responsible for the editorial components of IIs signature research rankings, including the All-America Research Team. He is on his second tour at II: from 1984 until 1997, he worked in various divisions of the company, including a 10-year stint in Newsletters, where he was part of the team that launched Global Money Management and Derivatives Week. Lew has an A.B. in romance languages and literatures from Princeton University
Adele Langie is Executive Director of Institutional Investor Forums' business in the United States. Based in New York, she has P&L responsibility of all the domestic private investor meetings with institutional investors (DB and DC), family offices, registered investment advisors and corporate financial executives. She also serves as Executive Director of Sales for the US Institute, a prestigious membership group for the Chairmen and CEOs of asset management firms. Before joining Institutional Investor, Adele was a Managing Director at RogersCasey, a global pension consulting firm. Prior to this, Adele was a Vice President at Greenwich Associates, a global market research and consulting firm. Adele has also has experience working for Merrill Lynch Capital Markets, IBM Credit Corporation and Xerox Corporation.
Adele graduated with an M.B.A., with Honors, from the Harvard Business School, and a B.A. in Economics, cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Smith College.
Simon McLoughlin is Managing Director of II's Membership and Conference business in Europe. Based in London, he looks after a team of 35 and is responsible for business development. Simon has led the development of our online communities for institutional investors and investment managers, which now have more than 1300 members in 82 countries, controlling assets of $18 trillion USD. Prior to joining Euromoney Institutional Investor plc in 2006, he was Head of Corporate Development at LexisNexis Europe. Mr McLoughlin started his career as a journalist on The Sun in London. He attended Cambridge University and gained an MA (Hons) in Law and English Literature.
Barbara Munder is Senior Advisor for Institutional Investor. Previously, she was Executive Director, Institutional Investor Memberships with operational responsibility for two of the units membership groups, and also the COO of wf360, a distance learning company. Prior to that she was a twenty-year veteran of The McGraw-Hill Companies where she was ultimately SVP for corporate-wide marketing and e-business initiatives. She served on the companys investment committee, which oversees the companys defined benefit ($900m) and defined contributions ($900m) plans and was Secretary for The McGraw-Hill Companies Board of Directors Corporate Governance Committee. Previously, she was Vice President and General Manager, Business Week Services with oversight for the media units newsletter, conference and electronic products group.
Melissa Murray has been with the Conference Division at Institutional Investor since 1996. Currently she is an Executive Director, responsible for sales and client service for various memberships and conferences involving senior executives at asset management organizations. Prior to joining Institutional Investor, Melissa was a Director at Christies, Inc. in the Special Events department. Melissa graduated magna cum laude from Mount Holyoke College with a BA in art history. Her interests include squash, tennis, theater, cooking and travel.
Joseph N. Parsons joined Institutional Investor in April 2013. As Global Publisher for Institutional Investors Magazine Group, he leads sales and operations for our flagship publication, Institutional Investor, and its digital properties, as well as IIs Alpha for the hedge fund industry and IIs Intelligence. Prior to joining the group, Joe held a variety of Management, Sales and Marketing positions at The Economist, American Express, The National Geographic Society and Ogilvy & Mather. Prior to joining the workforce, Joe served as a gunner on a Bradley fighting vehicle in the 24th ID of the US Army. Joe received his B.A. in Communications and Marketing at the University of Southern Mississippi.
Michael Peltz is Editor of the Institutional Investor magazine group, overseeing all editorial operations, including its digital properties. From July 2009 to July 2011, he was Executive Editor, responsible for overseeing the editorial content of Institutional Investors Americas edition. Prior to that he was Editor of Institutional Investor's Alpha, a leading magazine dedicated to covering the hedge fund industry. During his two decades as a financial journalist, Michael has closely followed Wall Street, asset management, hedge funds and other alternative investments, derivatives and trading. A graduate of Dartmouth College, he has also worked at Worth and Bloomberg Markets magazines.
Lyn Perlmuth is director of the Fixed Income Forum and Institutional Investor Legal Forum, private membership groups. She previously ran a publications and conferences business at Dow Jones after more than 16 years in Institutional Investors Newsletters division, beginning as a reporter, editor, head of new product development and then group publisher. She was for several years a corporate finance columnist for Institutional Investor magazine.
Tracey Redmond drives and manages a variety of new and going business initiatives for Institutional Investors global publishing group. Tracey joined II in September of 2005 from the International Trademark Association, where she was the head of Business Development. Tracey holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Salem State College and resides in New York City.
Will Rowlands-Rees is the Managing Director of Institutional Investor's Research business. He oversees all aspects of the global research department from surveys and data collection to monetizing all of the data behind Institutional Investor's 62+ annual rankings. Before joining Institutional Investor, Will spent 13 years at Thomson Reuters where he was most recently Global Head of Research. In this role he had accountability for the Sell and Buy Side Research business, which encompassed both the strategy and execution of the flagship Thomson Reuters Eikon platform to this audience, and the distribution of Research between the Buy and Sell side participants. Will is a graduate of the London School of Economics where he majored in Economics.
Steven Weiss joined Institutional Investor in 1999 as VP of Finance and as such is responsible for financial reporting and facilities. Steven also serves as head of real estate and contracts for the Euromoney US Group. Prior to joining II he served as Finance Director for Fremantle International, a producer and syndicator of TV programming throughout the world, and as Controller for Mark Goodson Productions, the famed game show creator.
Steven is a CPA and has a BS in Economics and an MBA in Public Accounting.
Kristin Zammit has been with Institutional Investor since 1997. Ms. Zammit is responsible for sales and client service for the Institutional Investor Institute, Hedge Fund Institutional Forum, and for sales of the majority of II Forums sponsorships around the globe. Kristin has spent her entire 28 year career in sales, helping a variety of companies in and outside the financial industry with a broad range of sales and marketing initiatives including marketing, advertising, trade show sales, sales planning, sales training, product launches, trade shows, and conferences. Kristin graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Loomis-Chaffee School in Windsor, and subsequently graduated from the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, VA with a B.A. in Theatre and Psychology.
